Guy Ritchie’s new Netflix series, The Gentlemen, is undoubtedly the most popular show on the streaming platform in the United States. If you’ve watched all eight episodes, you’re likely wondering whether there will be a second season. Here’s what you need to know about Season 2.
This acclaimed film tells the story of an English soldier named Eddie Halstead (Theo James), who is unexpectedly given the inheritance of his family’s estate when his father dies.
It becomes apparent to him quickly that his property is intertwined with Mickey Pearson’s cannabis empire, hidden beneath the polished aristocracy of England. To safeguard his home and life, Eddie must navigate a dangerous and powerful world filled with nefarious characters with nefarious agendas.
James told the LA Times in an interview that in Guy’s world, you must straddle the fine line between humour and comedy very acutely, but you also can’t tip into the ridiculous because that would mean that all of the stakes would be lost completely.
He constantly undercuts your expectations as an audience, which I enjoy. Nothing is completely serious, which matters, as it is not Succession at all.
It is set in the same universe as the movie directed by Ritchie, which stars Matthew McConaughey and is set in a similar universe. Netflix confirmed that “the TV show is inspired by the movie, but it has a much different narrative.” None of the original actors returned for the Netflix show. Will There Be A Season 2 Of The Gentlemen On Netflix?
Although Netflix has not yet renewed The Gentlemen for a second season, it seems likely to do so. Deadline reported in March 2024 that the series was envisioned as a series with multiple seasons, and Ritchie has allegedly already worked on ideas for season two.

According to the TV executive, there have been ongoing discussions about a second season, who said that the first season has to perform first, and then we’ll know more. Furthermore, Helwig said that The Gentlemen series might “spawn some kind of universe, a Guy Ritchie world,” potentially leading to another movie if the series is successful.
During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Giancarlo Esposito, who portrays wine aristocrat Stanley Johnston in Netflix’s The Gentlemen, said he hopes there is more to come from the series. However, he added that a second season was not discussed then.
It was never discussed that there could be a second season. But when you’re in the last episode of the first season – there’s a great scene, I love Ray Winstone – then you know we can go further. And I think the show does as well,” The Mandalorian star said.
What Will The Gentlemen Season 2 Be About?

During an interview with Netflix, Winstone explained how “that’s a very smart move from Bobby. Stan is quite a person. He’s quite sophisticated,” Winstone said. “Bobby can learn quite a bit from Stan, and Stan will be useful in the future.”
Likewise, Scodelario, who is playing Winstone’s onscreen daughter, speculated that either them partnering up to run everything within their household or Stan will be Bobby’s little girl, as she joked.
